Home-Made Almond Milk

Soak Two cups of raw almonds in salty water overnight. I’m a huge fan of Cinnamon so I sprinkle some in too.

In the morning I rinse the almonds in a strainer until the water runs clear.

Then place the almonds in a blender with 4-6 cups of water (depending on how thick you like it) I also sprinkle in a little extra Cinnamon.

Start slow and blend for minute or two. Next place a fine metal strainer over a large bowl. Pour the mixture through and what you have in the bowl is your delicious homemade almond milk.

This should make 5 – 6 cups and will keep well for up to 3 days in the fridge.

Keep the pulp in a sealed container in the fridge to use in other recipes.

*soaking the almonds with a split vanilla bean and then adding it to the blender mix also works really well.

*Pumpkin seeds are also a great option. I soak them for the same exactly the same way for amount of time. I love using a mix of almonds and pumpkin seeds.
